FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Michigan's Stoner Metal Trio Rise From the Underground With Grit, Groove, and Defiance
Michigan-based stoner metal band Grave Next Door have emerged from the depths with their thunderous new album Sorry No Candy , released in October 2024 via Black Doomba Records. With a renewed lineup and a sharpened sound, the band is gearing up to take their doom-laden grooves back on the road with East Coast, Midwest, and Southern U.S. tour dates planned for 2025.
Founded in 2018 by brothers Patrick (drums) and Anthony Salerno (guitar/vocals) , the band’s name was inspired by the cemetery next to their childhood home—a fitting symbol for the band's themes of mortality, addiction, and inner torment. Drawing musical influence from legends like Black Sabbath , The Melvins , Black Flag , and even classic rock acts such as Cream and The Moody Blues , Grave Next Door has carved out a gritty, genre-blurring sound that’s as cathartic as it is crushing.
Grave Next Door first made waves with their early singles in 2019, building a passionate following affectionately known as the Grave Nation . Their explosive live performances took them across the Midwest, East, and South, including notable sets at Maryland Doom Fest (2021, 2022) , Tennessee Metal Devastation Festival (2022) , and Kraken Fest (2022) .
Their 2022 debut album Sanctified Heathen , also released through Black Doomba Records, tackled themes of war and personal demons, earning praise from doom and sludge fans alike. The band’s evolution continues with Sorry No Candy , which showcases a matured songwriting approach and more dynamic production, thanks in part to label head Tommy Stewart , who also handled production duties.
Now joined by bassist Brendan Reeder , and with Patrick recovered from a recent kidney transplant, Grave Next Door are poised to push forward with the kind of raw determination only true survivors possess. Their latest single “Solitary Cell” is accompanied by a gripping music video, available now on YouTube.
