What started as a group of musicians meeting every week to jam for fun gradually developed into the possibility of creating something much larger. Drummer, guitarist, vocalist, and longtime musician Morgan Heck joined forces with Steven Eddie, whose background and conceptual approach helped establish the project's lyrical and musical direction. When Eddie and Heck entered the studio, the project initially evolved under two separate identities, Portals of the Damned and Tomb Guard. As the music and mythology continued to develop, the two entities eventually merged into one, giving birth to Portals of the Tomb Guard. At the heart of that evolution was Kurio. Curious and relentless, Kurio travels through a world filled with darkness, confronting the Kings of Theron, figures representing selfish rulers and established powers, while experiencing concepts surrounding death, the demonic world and realities beyond the known. His journey eventually leads toward the mysterious Inbetwixt, entities gifted with the ability to understand and conquer the puzzles of existence, becoming builders of puzzles and ultimately builders of worlds. Seasons of Hell serves as another chapter in that expanding universe. With Steven Eddie handling vocals and guitars, Morgan Heck contributing drums, vocals and guitars, David Lammons on bass, and Cameron Brown on keyboards, Portals of the Tomb Guard combine a traditional heavy metal foundation with theatrical darkness and a growing conceptual narrative. The track begins with the delicate interplay of harpsichord and string quartet, establishing an atmosphere steeped in classical elegance before gradually giving way to heavy guitars, sweeping orchestral arrangements and expressive live strings. Entirely instrumental, the composition allows its cinematic arrangement to carry the emotional narrative, creating a dark and immersive soundscape where gothic melancholy meets symphonic grandeur. Adding an unmistakably human dimension to the production are returning collaborators Sanya Smileska of North Macedonia on viola and Polina Faustova of Ukraine on cello. Both musicians have previously contributed to Maragoth’s work, and their performances continue an international musical collaboration that brings warmth, depth and organic character to the orchestral arrangements. The title itself, The Entrance (Renascentia), reflects the song’s role within the larger project. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MATT ZANE PROVIDES UPDATE ON $1 MILLION+ STATIC-X LAWSUIT OVER WAYNE STATIC DOCUMENTARY Filmmaker says ongoing legal dispute centers on ownership of footage, an alleged two-film agreement, and his efforts to complete an unauthorized documentary about Wayne Static and Tera Wray LOS ANGELES, CA — September 15, 2026 — Filmmaker Matt Zane has released a new video providing an update on the ongoing legal dispute between himself and Static-X concerning his planned documentary about the late Static-X frontman Wayne Static and his wife, Tera Wray. According to Zane, the lawsuit seeks more than $1 million in damages and centers primarily on copyright claims involving footage he personally filmed during his work with Static-X. Zane disputes the band's claims regarding ownership of that footage. He says he never signed a work-for-hire agreement or another contract transferring ownership of his footage to Static-X. "I never signed a work for hire agreement or any other contract to relinquish my ownership of the footage," Zane says in his latest video update. A central part of Zane's position is his claim that his work with Static-X involved two separate documentary projects. According to Zane, one project was intended to be a film involving Static-X, while the second was his own documentary focusing on Wayne Static and Tera Wray. Zane says he repeatedly attempted to formalize the arrangement through a written agreement but that those efforts were postponed. He also says communications with Static-X management support his account that the second documentary project was known to members of the band's organization. "The facts are the facts, and I can back them up," Zane states. Zane also addresses the scope of the copyright dispute. He says his documentary has not yet been released and that the current dispute involves less than 15 minutes of footage that he has publicly posted online. According to Zane, the completed documentary has not been made available to the opposing side, and he believes the litigation is also an effort to prevent him from completing and releasing the film.
