The first trailer for Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile — the Ted Bundy biopic featuring the acting debut of Metallica’s James Hetfield — has been released. The movie itself is set to debut tomorrow at the Sundance Film Festival. So, y’know. If you happen to be at the Sundance Film Festival or in the Sundance Film Festival area, do be sure to check it out and let us know how it is.
Hetfield, who plays the Utah highway patrolman who first arrested Ted Bundy in 1975, does appear a couple of times in the trailer, albeit briefly. Generally speaking, I don’t think the movie looks bad, but the trailer has a really cheap, chintzy vibe that I’m guessing doesn’t well-represent the finished product. I mean, maybe I’m wrong and the movie is full of public domain electric guitar music and a liberal use of the shaky title card effect from iMovie, but I’m willing to give the filmmakers the benefit of the doubt for now. - MetalSucks
