The Invid have dropped their self-titled debut album, a full-throttle collision of thrash metal, punk, d-beat, hardcore, and death metal. Formed in September 2024 by multi-instrumentalist Kristján B. Heiðarsson (Vetur, Drungi, ex-Kookaveen) and powerhouse vocalist Mik Annetts (ex-Bastard, ex-Under the Church, ex-Kookaveen), The Invid channel an unrelenting energy that’s impossible to pin down. “The Invid is a grand mixture of influences to the point that it is hard to locate on the genre map, but fast and relentless are the key words,” the band explains. Recorded with studio wizard Helgi Durhuus at Stúdíó Helvíti, Reykjavík, the album captures raw aggression with precision, pairing chaotic riffs with punishing rhythms.
