Toronto, Ontario, Canada based alternative hard rock/metal duo John Fly has officially released their debut single, "Quailhunter," the first taste of their forthcoming full length album. Clocking in at three minutes of riff driven intensity, "Quailhunter" showcases a band determined to carve its own path while paying tribute to the unmistakable spirit of 1990s heavy music.

Built on crushing guitar work, dynamic grooves, and memorable vocal hooks, "Quailhunter" blends alternative hard rock with metal influences to create a sound that feels both familiar and refreshingly original. John Fly is the latest project from longtime Canadian musician, producer, guitarist, and vocalist John Fly , joined by drummer Jorge Borges . The two musicians share a long standing musical alliance that stretches back years, bringing together decades of experience into a focused, hard hitting duo based in Toronto, Ontario.

Formed in 2025, John Fly embraces the idea that no two songs should sound exactly alike. Every track explores new territory while remaining rooted in the heavy alternative rock and metal traditions that inspired them. Despite performing as a duo, the band delivers a remarkably full sound both in the studio and on stage, with plans to add a touring bassist in the near future.

"Quailhunter" serves as the opening chapter of a larger musical vision. The band is currently completing their debut full length album at Harlow Sound , where they continue refining a collection of songs that balance classic influences with a modern edge.

The single was mixed and mastered by Dennis Koehne and produced at Harlow Sound , capturing the band's powerful chemistry with clarity and impact.

While John Fly continues performing select shows around Toronto, destination performances across Canada are planned later in 2026. Outside of music, both members still work in the construction industry, proving that hard work extends well beyond the stage. The band is also actively seeking soundtrack placements, with merchandise and vinyl releases planned in the near future.
