Unverkalt Teams Up with Rotting Christ’s Sakis Tolis for Blistering New Single “I, The Deceit”

Post-metal visionaries Unverkalt are hitting harder than ever on their new album Héréditaire , and the latest single “I, The Deceit” proves they’re not holding back. The track features none other than Sakis Tolis of Rotting Christ , adding a layer of grim gravitas to an already intense sonic assault.

Released via Season of Mist , Héréditaire marks a bold evolution for the band, trading the velvet shadows of their previous work for a blackened, weighty atmosphere. “I, The Deceit”: A Furious, Emotional Core

Described by vocalist Dimitra Kalavrezou as “capturing the stillness of those who let the world burn, not out of ignorance, but because it serves them,” “I, The Deceit” is a track built on simmering contempt and visceral emotion. Tolis adds his signature growl over the song’s storm of blast beats and crushing guitar, delivering lines like, “The world falls apart / And you just stand there / Watching it burn down.”

Kalavrezou’s haunting cleans provide an emotional counterpoint, giving the song a sense of intimate despair amidst its apocalyptic weight. The band’s guitarist and composer, Themis Ioannou, describes the album as “a lament for what is far older than our very existence,” exploring generational trauma and humanity’s darkest inheritances.
