Sybreed Announces 20th Anniversary Edition of Debut Album "Slave Design" and Unveils New Single "System Debaser"

Industrial metal pioneers Sybreed are set to re-release their seminal debut album, Slave Design, in a special 20th Anniversary Edition on October 4th, 2024. This highly anticipated reissue comes two decades after the album's original release in 2004, offering fans a refreshed experience of the record that helped define the "death wave" genre—a potent blend of New Wave and Death Metal.

In addition to the remastered tracks, the 20th Anniversary Edition of Slave Design will feature a re-recording of the fan-favorite track "Bioactive" and a previously unreleased song titled "System Debaser," both of which were recorded in 2023. Sybreed’s music has always envisioned a bleak, dystopian future where the integrity of the individual is threatened by the insatiable thirst for control from those in power—a theme more relevant today than ever.

Slave Design is a cornerstone in the industrial metal scene, featuring on the soundtracks of iconic films such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Hellboy: Sword of Storms. With this special re-release, Sybreed reaffirms their status as a legendary band, continuing to influence and resonate with a dedicated fanbase around the world.

As part of the celebration, Sybreed will release their new single, "System Debaser," digitally on September 18th, 2024. The track promises to deliver the crushing riffs, electronic atmospheres, and thought-provoking lyrics that fans have come to love. Additionally, the lyric video for "System Debaser" will premiere on Metal Injection on September 19th, giving fans a visual experience to accompany the release.

Formed in 2003, Sybreed quickly rose to prominence in the industrial metal scene with their unique fusion of New Wave and Death Metal, a style they dubbed "Death Wave." Over a decade, the band released four critically acclaimed albums—Slave Design (2004), Antares (2007), The Pulse of Awakening (2009), and God Is An Automaton (2012)—before disbanding in 2013. Their legacy continues to thrive, with fans and musicians alike still drawing inspiration from their innovative sound.
