FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hub City Film Festival to Premiere Teaser Trailer for "Death Reigns" on Friday, September 27th
Jackson, TN - The Hub City Film Festival is thrilled to announce the premiere of the teaser trailer for "Death Reigns," the highly anticipated documentary from acclaimed independent Tennessee filmmaker Randall Kendrick. The teaser will be unveiled on Friday, September 27th, at 2:00 pm, offering festival-goers an exclusive first look at Kendrick’s latest project.
"Death Reigns" delves into the story behind the Tennessee Metal Devastation Music Festival, an underground metal event organized by radio hosts and music promoters Raven Moonla and Zach Moonshine. Set in a small town in Tennessee, the festival drew intense scrutiny and backlash from religious fundamentalists and conservative politicians, who sought to shut it down. Despite these challenges, the event became a symbol of resistance against the restrictive culture of the Bible Belt, galvanizing a community of metal enthusiasts and free thinkers.
Randall Kendrick, whose previous film "The Steel Garden" won the audience award for Best Documentary at the Hub City Film Festival, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming premiere. "I’m excited for the teaser to my next film to screen at this festival," Kendrick said. "The Hub City Film Festival is a wonderful event, and the festival’s organizer, Shelby Tyre, is doing such important things for the film community in west Tennessee. I encourage everyone to get tickets for this event to support Tennessee filmmakers and to get a sneak peek at my upcoming project."
The Hub City Film Festival will kick off on Thursday, September 26th, at Catbird Studio in Jackson, Tennessee. Attendees can purchase tickets at hubcityfilmfestival.org.
As "Death Reigns" follows the impact and triumph of the Metal Devastation Festival, it captures the spirit of defiance and community that emerged in the face of adversity. This documentary is set to resonate with audiences far beyond the metal scene, shining a light on the power of music and the resilience of those who refuse to be silenced.
For those eager to be a part of the story, the 2024 Tennessee Metal Devastation Music Festival will take place on October 5th at The Amp in Jackson, Tennessee. Attendees will not only experience an electrifying event but may also find themselves featured in Kendrick’s upcoming documentary.
