SPLINTERED THRONE is from Portland, Oregon, USA. Their album "The Greater Good Of Man" contains nine songs, including one remastered track, worthy of a bit over forty minutes of pure heavy metal. The album starts off with the amazing "The Reaper Is Calling" that definitely will appeal to old school metal heads and fans of JUDAS PRIEST, to name the most important influences of this band. Another thing that strikes me is that the singer of this outfit is Lisa Mann of the one woman metal project WHITE CRONE. She replaced former singer Brian Garrison in 2019. The flashing lead guitar parts and the fast drum beats are making this a great opener. You'd better beware, because you can't escape the reaper. The first riffs in "The Crossing" will probably take you back to "Wasted Years" of IRON MAIDEN, although it goes into a much different direction. Obviously, this band breathes old school heavy metal all the way. You don't hear that much double guitar solos these days, to be honest. And those who do it belong to the most outstanding bands in this scene, as far as I'm concerned. "Modern Star Rising" has a slower beat, yet it also contains a great guitar solo, next to the powerful voice of Lisa. It is followed by the fast and ballsy title track "The Greater Good Of Man", which has got that good old JUDAS PRIEST vibe again with a bit more melody perhaps. There are also some interesting mood changes in here, which lifts it up to a higher level. "Let It Rain" is on next and once again the double guitar solos are there, next to the galloping riffs. And it does help, because the rain is falling down from the sky near the end. Clearly, it's the music that does the trick. "Underdogs" is another firm rock song, which is followed by the head banger "Night Of The Heathens", which sounds furious and extremely fast. "Time Stands Still" has got a more epical feeling and the guitar part has some influences of that good old raw GARY MOORE sound during his metal heydays. The final song is a 2020 remastered version of "Immortal". This stunning power ballad won't leave you untouched and it will hit you right in the face, especially since the band wrote it in memory of Lemmy. SPLINTERED THRONE will definitely please all the old school metal fans out there. The band consists of Lisa Mann on vocals, Brian Bailey on bass, Jason Moser on guitar, Matt Dorado on guitar and Kris Holboke on drums. Traditional Heavy Metal Band Splintered Throne ’s high energy performances have captivated audiences on the US West Coast for over a decade. When original vocalist Brian Garrison left in 2019, Lisa Mann ( White Crone ) stepped forward to transform the band into a female fronted juggernaut.  Bassist Brian Bailey is the longest running member of the band, followed by guitarist/songwriter Jason Moser and drummer Kris Holboke, and blistering new guitarist Matt Dorado ( Earth To Ashes ). The band has supported some of the very best including Primal Fear, Metal Church, P.O.D. Lita Ford, Armored Saint, Tony MacAlpine, Gary Hoey, Points North, Sanctuary , and many more.

Their new album, " The Greater Good of Man " (releasing Aug 19th) marks the post-pandemic return of this Pacific Northwest Metal favorite. Eight melodic and burning songs were hammered out over the course of the pandemic, as well as a re-recorded version of their Bic-flicking power ballad "Immortal," written in memory of Lemmy Kilmister . Packed with memorable melodies, heavy riffage, and high-energy performances, this album reflects myriad influences ranging from Power Metal, Melodic Hard Rock , and Bay Area Thrash . This is an album for headbangers and horn raisers!
