During his June 28 performance at the Download Festival in Madrid, Spain, Marilyn Manson forced a fan to take off his Avenged Sevenfold t-shirt onstage because "it's not my band."
A7X were on the bill the same day, and were set to perform after Manson.
A fan behind the alias of J-888 wrote on the A7X Reddit page:
"After 30 minutes of 'fans' boo-ing at Manson (almost everyone was there just because A7X was next), that dude asked to go on stage. The fact that he didn't know the lyrics, shows he should have let someone else go on stage instead. So Manson got pissed and that dude 'paid' for it. Source: I was there. Awesome show on his side, awful crowd."
As you can see in the embedded clip, Marilyn told the fan:
"You should take your shirt off. It's not my band, it's a different band. You can wear that flag instead of the shirt. [the guy was also carrying a flag of Peru]" Via UltimateGuitar
