SÖNUS return with “Pagan Woman,” a hypnotic and hard-hitting new single that marks the opening chapter of their forthcoming album Planes of Torment . Set for release on February 14, 2026, the track serves as both invocation and warning, pulling the listener into a heavy rock pilgrimage shaped by loss, obsession, and transformation.

Rooted in the towering legacy of classic hard rock and early heavy metal, “Pagan Woman” fuses massive, blues-soaked riffs, sensual and ritualistic rhythms, and raw, commanding vocals. Drawing influence from bands like Led Zeppelin, The Cult, Uriah Heep, and Mountain, the song explores the unraveling of love and desire through themes of decay and renewal, destruction and rebirth. Heartbreak becomes ceremony. Longing becomes power.

Recorded live in the studio, “Pagan Woman” captures the primal force of a band playing without a safety net. Every note bleeds urgency, channeling obsession and awakening with the grit and grandeur of rock’s golden age. As the first track unveiled from Planes of Torment , it sets the tone for an album forged through hardship, resilience, and an unbreakable belief in the power of rock.

SÖNUS is the long-standing vision of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter David Wachsman, who previously led the Doom Charts–topping 2022 album Usurper of the Universe . For Planes of Torment , Wachsman recruited Dave Reno on bass and Colin Jaramillo on drums, completing the full live band and bringing the album’s uncompromising vision to life.

Planes of Torment is a blistering journey through madness, heartbreak, and survival, recorded live to preserve the raw, untamed intensity of the band’s performances. It is heavy, human, and unflinchingly honest. The journey begins with “Pagan Woman.”
