Rising metalcore powerhouse Virya has secured an astounding victory in Metal Devastation Radio’s Battle of the Bands, amassing an impressive 342,883 votes from their passionate fanbase and claiming the coveted title of Band of the Month for November 2024. This major win solidifies Virya’s growing influence in the modern metal scene and highlights their unique approach to music, which combines raw power with diverse influences outside the traditional metal framework.

Formed in 2023 by seasoned guitarists Wojciech Bator and Harsha Dasari, along with drummer Jakub Dąbrowski, Virya quickly made waves with their distinctive sound, merging modern metalcore with innovative elements. Drawing comparisons to bands like Architects, Tesseract, and Twelve Foot Ninja, Virya remains committed to their own path, infusing each track with strength, precision, and emotional depth. Following Harsha’s departure, Marek Bienias joined as the band's vocalist, bringing a commanding stage presence and a powerful voice that has taken Virya’s music to new heights. In 2024, the lineup was completed with the addition of bassist Lubomyr Kosakovsky, whose heavy, resonant basslines add a new dimension to the band’s dynamic sound.
