And here we are again reviewing Incursion, an explosive quintet from Miami, where they were born in the distant 1982 and then moved the center of gravity of their metal raids to Nashville (Tennessee) in full territory monopolized by Country music. In fact, I had already had the honor of reviewing their previous EP "The Hunter", where I had the opportunity to underline the bizarre past of these five boys all iron and fire: formed in 1982, they had just recorded a demo in 1984, then then disappear into total oblivion until 2020, when they re-emerged from the mists with the aforementioned EP. Well, now the time has finally come to test them on a full-length, if only to verify that those good premises displayed in the previous work had or had not been consolidated. And, ladies and gentlemen, I can officially tell you that they were! This debut album (better late than never) rocks! Of course, even in the case of this "mature" band we can't cry out miracles, but the ideas are there and they are many and disruptive. Quality and quantity, albeit broadly "in the ranks" of the more orthodox Power Metal canons. Ready to go, and the title/opening track already hits us like a blow of jack in the face; but that's not all, because from those first grooves onwards there will literally be no breathing space: the pieces follow one another in a veritable barrage of fire. This CD is like a 41-minute long machine gun, in which - at best - only with "The Sentinel" will there be a chance to catch a breath. If we add to this the fact that the production is really "hyper", the result that comes out is a very robust sound: Steve's uvula is rocky, Dan and Robbie's rhythm section soars the Mercalli scale and the axes by Max and Michael dart from their par, a riot of "old style" metal complete with a Maiden-like substrate winding (not so much) under the track. "Strike Down" and "Master of Evil" (in pure Exciter style) on the shields, but it's the whole release to tell us that the name of the band is spot on: it's a full-blown incursion, having as objective our auricles and our foreman, who just can't stop until after the very last groove. With thunderous glory, Incursion present their full-length album " Blinding Force " on No Remorse Records . Harking back to metal's glory era, the album's nine songs have squarely placed them poised to ride the momentum of their debut EP " The Hunter ".

The band consists of vocalist Steve Samson , guitarists Maxx Havick and Michael Lashinsky , drummer Dan Douchette , and bassist Robbie Crede . Like " The Hunter ", " Blinding Force " was produced by the band and engineer Chris Short ( Alestorm ) and mixed and mastered by Jorg Uken at Soundlodge Recording ( Anvil , Ravager, Slaughter Day ). The artwork was masterfully done by Marcos Miller ( Desaster , Decimator , Mental Horror ).
