ZVIJER - Moje Prokletije taken from the forthcoming album 'Navia (Zadah Jalovog Svijeta)' English Translation : 'Navia (Foul Stench Of A the Barren World)' To be released by Seance Records on December 4th 2020 ZVIJER, The Beast has lain in wait; stalking the darkness and bristling with savagery now striking in 2020 with a brand new album, ‘Navia (Zadah Jalovog Svijeta)’. ‘Moje Prokletije’ this first song to be revealed is about living in isolation upon the heights of mountain Prokletije. “Prokletije“ can be translated as the “Cursed Heights“. A beautiful yet treacherous landscape that has lured many people to their deaths over their centuries by way of blinding fog, violent storms or by simply enveloping a soul who is never to be seen again. The main theme behind the song was to try to bring forth all the feelings of solitude and life outside the current state of the world. Mount Prokletije stands as the perfect metaphor, an eternal, foreboding monolith on the edge of human perception for so long, yet an ever-present landmark in the elusive flow of time. With ‘Navia (Zadah Jalovog Svijeta)’ members Knjaz and Insanus (Castrum) unleash a relentless attack of traditional black metal that thunders with wrath and seethes with sinister melodic riffs, scathing vocals and a brutal sense of grandiosity while thematically exploring dark folklore and funeral customs from the Balkan territories as well as the significance of night time as an archetype of worship and symbol of the great unknown darkness. Expressing an irrepressible black energy - the lifeblood of ancient traditions is most aptly expressed though cacophonous riffs which are beguilingly melodic whilst being cold and savage as they brood and ebb like a growling beast, before unleashing fast paced fury and barbaric vocal vitriol. Crafted with an imposing musical mastery, dynamic song writing and a towering aura of grandiosity the album becomes ever more potent and bewitching with each listen.
