Louisville’s black metal horde ANAGNORISIS has just released their massive sophomore LP Beyond All Light, the band’s first full-length since 2007’s Overton Trees. Thunderously capturing ANAGNORISIS’ most expansive material to date, Beyond All Light, was meticulously recorded by the band and mixed by guitarist Zak Denham and his One by One Studios, and then mastered by Brian Lueken at Decibel Mastering. The two-part LP is broken into two segments, each act featuring three massive songs overall encompassing nearly fifty minutes. The band’s already classically-influenced but forward-thinking approach to black metal ventures into new territories, and while skeletal elements of their earlier material shrouds the material, more orchestral and atmospheric elements penetrate the band’s wickedest, blazing attacks ever. While comparisons to notable bands like Nachtmystium, Emperor, Summoning and Drudkh can be made, ANAGNORISIS weave their own unique visions and configurations into their songcraft, creating a wholly engaging, epic atmosphere.
