Connecticut heavy genre-benders Turkey Vulture have begun tracking a four-song EP at Studio Wormwood in Mansfield, CT. The title is yet to be revealed, but this offering will focus more on the band's blues and folk side than the punk anthems of their debut EP Boxer.
Says the band, "We're excited to be working with Dave Kaminsky on this EP -- he's recorded lots of heavy bands we love and so far he's really bringing out the best in our songs. We perform as a duo, so it's a whole new experience hearing our compositions fleshed out with bass, layers of guitar, and newly written lyrics. Our friend Simon Tuozzoli at Up Recording also helped us record a cello intro for one of the songs: a nineteenth-century sea chantey that leads into some stormy waters. Aside from that intro, all the new material is original."
The EP is due out in late May in digital and CD formats.

About Turkey Vulture
Americana-inspired metal with a punk edge might not be the first thing you affiliate with southern Connecticut, but such is the daily bread of Turkey Vulture. This duo infuses Motörhead with Social Distortion by way of The White Stripes and even Dolly Parton, belting out anthems that protest the suffering of our modern age. With their June 2019 EP Boxer making rounds in the underground and a music video of the title track showing off their sparkling personalities, Turkey Vulture hopes to take their blend of sounds to a wider audience, driving their love for music and hatred of systematic oppression to brave new heights.
