According to Daily Herald , a woman reportedly set fire to two church buildings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Orem, Utah. She also wrote “Satan Lives” on the door jam in permanent marker.
Orem Police Department posted on their Facebook page that Jillian Nicole Robinson , aged 18, caused “at least” $600,000 damage to the pair of church buildings.
She has been arrested on suspicion of arson (a second-degree felony) and burglary (a third-degree felony) and is being investigated for criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools. The latter charges are both class B misdemeanors.
It is believed that the fires were started in the early hours of Friday morning (March 30) and the Orem Police Department responded to reports of a fire inside a church at roughly 1:50AM. Using fire extinguishers, they were able to put out the small fires, though the damage left behind was significant.
