NYC-based alternative progressive rock outfit The Phoenix Within return with a searing new single, “Meat Bags,” out April 16, 2026. The track arrives as a raw, confrontational blast of hardcore energy, sharpening the band’s already volatile blend of metal, punk, and emotionally charged alternative rock.

Fronted by Omar Feliciano , and backed by Nick Narlis (bass), John Narlis (guitar), James Narlis (drums), and Steve Khan (drums) , The Phoenix Within continue building a sound that lives in the tension between aggression and vulnerability. Their work has always carried that underdog spirit, but “Meat Bags” leans harder into confrontation, pulling no punches.

Recorded and mastered by Robert Freeman at Audio Pilot Studio (Byram Township, NJ) , the single channels frustration with power structures and resistance into something unfiltered and urgent.
