Tennessee Metal Devastation Music Fest Announces 5th Anniversary Festival Date and Official Artwork

Jackson, TN – January 15, 2026 – Tennessee Metal Devastation Music Fest is fired up to announce its 5th annual festival, set to unleash chaos on October 10, 2026 . In honor of half a decade of unrelenting metal, the fest reveals this year’s official artwork: the Portal Priestess , crafted by the brilliant StealthFangs .

Good afternoon, Metal Devastation family! After a quiet holiday season, we’re back and more charged than ever. This year marks our 5-Year Anniversary , and we’re ready to rip open a new portal to hell—are you?!

Since its launch in 2022, Tennessee Metal Devastation Music Fest has defied skeptics and controversy to create a home for extreme metal in the Bible Belt. Founders Zach Moonshine and Raven Moonla built the festival from scratch, transforming Jackson, TN into a hub for underground metal while navigating protests, online hysteria, and local backlash.

Adding to the excitement, the festival’s rise is now captured in the acclaimed documentary Death Reigns , directed by Randall Kendrick . The film chronicles the festival’s growth, the cultural friction it faced, and the unwavering spirit of the metal community.

Death Reigns has earned accolades on the festival circuit:

Best Documentary – Hub City Film Festival

Audience Choice Award 2025 – YoFiFest

Honorable Mention – YoFiFest

Community Impact Award Winner – Hub City Film Fest

Official Selection – Bare Bones Film Festival

Official Selection – Tallahassee Film Fest

The documentary is available for streaming worldwide on Thunderflix , giving metalheads everywhere a front-row seat to the story of Tennessee Metal Devastation Fest and its relentless founders. Media outlets, including Decibel Magazine , have spotlighted the film for showcasing how heavy metal strengthens communities and for highlighting the festival’s cultural impact.

“People doubted us, tried to shut us down, and some even freaked out like it was 1985,” says Zach Moonshine, co-founder of the festival. “But we never backed down. Metal survived—and now everyone gets to see how we did it.”

This October, Tennessee Metal Devastation Music Fest invites fans to celebrate its 5th year with crushing riffs, mouth watering BBQ, and the heaviest weekend of 2026.

Stay tuned for lineup announcements!
