Metal Devastation PR Clients Earn Major Year-End Honors from No Clean Singing and The Obelisk
Metal Devastation PR is proud to announce that two of its artists, ChestCrush and Black Moon Cult , have been recognized among the Best Releases of 2025 by two of the most respected voices in underground heavy music, No Clean Singing and The Obelisk .
ChestCrush – Soul Extractor
Named one of the Best Releases of 2025 by No Clean Singing , Soul Extractor was praised for its uncompromising aggression, bleak worldview, and sheer sonic punishment. Released in April 2025, the album marked a stark evolution for the now multinational death metal act, leaning fully into disdain, rage, and hostility without offering a second of relief.
No Clean Singing highlighted the album’s lasting impact, describing it as a relentless barrage that leaves listeners worn down long after it ends. Tracks such as “Total Rejection” , “As The Damned Writhe In Eternal Woe” , and the infamously titled “Every Single Word That Comes Out Of Your Filthy Hole Is An Infectious Lie Spreading Disease” were singled out for their suffocating heaviness and unfiltered hatred. Soul Extractor was recognized as a standout release for its refusal to compromise and its ability to transcend genre lines through pure brutality.
Black Moon Cult – Ophidian Future (The Children of Yig)
Also earning high praise in 2025, Black Moon Cult were included in The Obelisk’s Best Releases of the Year , with Ophidian Future (The Children of Yig) additionally receiving the honor of Debut Album of the Year . Released via Black Doomba Records , the album was lauded for its volatile blend of heavy rock, metal, and psychedelia, and for establishing the Toledo, Ohio trio as a powerful new presence in the heavy underground.
The Obelisk praised the record’s cohesive identity, dynamic songwriting, and forward-looking potential, noting how its twisting rhythms, groove-heavy foundation, and distinctive atmosphere made it both nascent and accomplished. The album’s ability to merge multiple heavy styles into something uniquely its own ultimately secured its place as one of the year’s most important debuts.
