FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Los Angeles, CA — Shock rock veterans Society 1 have officially begun filming the highly anticipated sequel to their #1 film Everyone Dies (Rock Stars Don’t Count). The new project, titled Rise From The Dead, will be a hybrid documentary and concert film chronicling the band’s turbulent journey through 2025. The film will feature exclusive interviews and multiple live performances captured at their comeback show at the legendary Whisky A Go Go.
“The biggest question we got after Everyone Dies was why there wasn’t more music,” says frontman Matt Zane. “So this time, we’re focusing heavily on the actual performances. There’s still a narrative, but live songs are woven throughout the story.”
The documentary follows Zane , bassist Jimmy Minj , guitarist Erik Kluiber , and new drummer Jon Asher as they confront the fallout from releasing Everyone Dies. Rather than receiving the kind of comeback glow experienced by other bands, Society 1 found themselves pushed even further into the shadows.
“We honestly thought we’d get some of that Anvil -style love after the last movie,” Zane admits. “But the opposite happened. Nobody would touch us. We couldn’t even pay bands to take us on tour or PR companies to represent us.”
The announcement of Rise From The Dead comes just as Heavy Music Artwork released the new book Everyone Dies: The Matt Zane Reckoning, authored by Alex Milazzo.
Production is expected to wrap in January 2026, with the release slated for early the same year.
