Progressive metal innovators AEONS are back with their most daring and accomplished recording yet. Their single-track, 23-minute EP, “6EQUJ5,” showcases everything the band is celebrated for—brutal grooves, intricate prog-metal compositions, and haunting atmospheric melodies—while taking listeners on an expansive journey through humanity’s place in the cosmos.

Formed in 2016 on the Isle of Man, AEONS have built a devoted following with three critically acclaimed albums, combining epic prog-metal with punchy floor-fillers. “6EQUJ5” follows in that tradition, exploring the concept of humanity as a lonely voyager, caught in myths, religions, and our own machinations. Through a mysterious radio signal from the depths of space, the band conveys a message that redefines our understanding of ourselves and our place in the universe.
