Metal Devastation Radio’s Battle of the Bands has once again proven that the underground scene is alive, unrelenting, and fiercely dedicated. After weeks of brutal competition and nonstop fan support, UNREDEEMER have risen victorious with a staggering 84,104 votes , securing their place as Band of the Month for September 2025 !

That’s no small feat—MDPR’s Battle of the Bands contests have become a proving ground for unsigned and underground acts from around the world. This isn’t some popularity gimmick; it’s a blood-and-sweat competition where only the bands with real support and staying power rise to the top. And Unredeemer didn’t just rise—they stormed the throne.

About the Band

Hailing from the frozen heart of Finland, Unredeemer deal in the kind of sonic punishment that doesn’t ask for forgiveness—it demands surrender. Since forming in 2019, the band has carved out their name in Europe’s underground with a seamless blend of blackened death, thrash, and unrelenting nihilism. Their 2022 full-length Word Become Flesh set the stage, earning respect among fans of Carcass, Death, Morbid Angel, and Goatwhore.

Now, in 2025, the band has returned with their most devastating work yet— “SHAME” , a single released on July 18th that has already started turning heads in the extreme metal community.

Built on downtuned riffs, war-like rhythms, and a grim lyrical theme about the futility of blind obedience, “SHAME” is as crushing as it is thought-provoking.
