Stormbreaker Unleashes Haunting New Single “Sandman” – A Melodic Metal Dreamscape Out August 8th

Eastern Finland’s rising melodic metal powerhouse Stormbreaker returns with their electrifying new single, “Sandman,” set for release on August 8th, 2025 via Backyard Sounds . Following the momentum of their previous track “Femme Fatale,” this second single offers another glimpse into the band’s highly anticipated upcoming album, due out in September.

“ Sandman ” tells the story of a relentless chase between dreams and reality. The theater of dreams keeps spinning and spinning—but will the curtain eventually be drawn aside to reveal the boundary where reality ends and dreams begin? Through a blend of cinematic atmosphere, thunderous riffs, and dual vocals that pierce and soothe in equal measure, Stormbreaker creates a sonic experience that lingers long after the final note.

Stormbreaker’s signature sound combines the sleek, futuristic energy of Amaranthe , the aggression of Arch Enemy , and the theatrical flair of Beast In Black . Formed in 2021, the six-piece lineup features:

Petri Tarvainen and Anni Kokkonen on vocals,

Tomi Virtanen on guitar,

Anssi Kinnunen on bass,

and Sami Ratilainen on drums.

Their sound fuses the polished precision of European metal with the larger-than-life hooks of arena rock—offering both crushing heaviness and soaring melodies.

“Sandman” was mixed by Miitri Aaltonen and mastered by Mika Jussila at the legendary Finnvox Studios , ensuring a world-class production quality that matches the band’s ambitious songwriting.

With “Sandman,” Stormbreaker continues to carve out their identity in the international melodic metal scene—building anticipation for what promises to be a monumental debut full-length release.
