Technical death metal titans REVOCATION return this fall with their most ambitious and vicious work to date. Their upcoming full-length album, New Gods, New Masters , is slated for release on September 26th, 2025 , through Metal Blade Records , marking the band’s fifth record with the legendary label.
The announcement arrives with a punishing first single and music video, “Cronenberged,” featuring guest vocals from Jonny Davy of Job For A Cowboy . A grotesque homage to sci-fi horror master David Cronenberg and the body-horror genre, the song is a sonic and visual assault that explores the terrors of a science experiment gone wrong. The accompanying video is a practical effects-filled gorefest that transforms frontman Dave Davidson into a revolting tentacle monster — much to the delight (and disgust) of the My Good Eye film crew.

New Gods, New Masters : A Monument of Extremity
Led by guitarist, vocalist, and founder Dave Davidson , REVOCATION delivers nine tracks of blistering technicality, philosophical themes, and unrelenting heaviness . While Netherheaven (2022) earned widespread critical acclaim, New Gods, New Masters represents a sharpened evolution of their sound and ideology. Davidson credits the creative surge to the energy injected by new members Harry Lannon (rhythm guitar) and Alex Weber (bass), alongside longtime drummer Ash Pearson .
“I’m always refining my craft and trying to get better,” Davidson shares. “This lineup has really elevated our game both in the studio and on stage.”
The album title explores humanity’s ever-evolving need to worship. As traditional religions fade, Davidson argues we've replaced them with technological idols , leading us down a dangerous path toward AI-driven dystopia or extinction .
Produced by Davidson and mixed/mastered by Jens Bogren (Spiritbox, The Haunted), the album features artwork by Paolo Girardi and a slew of elite guest appearances:
