PATRIARCHS IN BLACK have released “Celestial Yard,” the second pre-release single from their forthcoming album Home , set for release on August 15th via Metalville Records. The official video for the emotionally powerful track can be viewed here:

Founding guitarist Dan Lorenzo (Hades/Non-Fiction) shares the origins of the song:
“About a year ago, Mark Sunshine asked me to write something on acoustic guitar for him. That same night I came up with the opening notes to what became ‘Celestial Yard.’ Johnny Kelly laid down drums, Emma Smoler added a haunting violin, and Sunshine delivered stunning vocals and lyrics. It’s mellow, yes—but it might be my favorite song on the album. It carries a crushing, emotional heaviness.”

Formed in late 2021 by Lorenzo and former Type O Negative/Danzig drummer Johnny Kelly, PATRIARCHS IN BLACK have consistently brought together top-tier talent for their recordings. Their upcoming album Home continues that tradition, featuring guest appearances from members of Down, COC, Life of Agony, Biohazard, and more.

Lorenzo describes Home as their most diverse work to date:
“You’ll find our usual doomy riffs, but we also took chances—acoustic guitars, violin, flute—alongside the heaviness. The album’s title reflects a sense of return. As much as I love to travel, it’s always nice to come home.”

Home features 14 tracks and a wide array of vocalists and instrumentalists, delivering a rich blend of doom, hard rock, and emotional depth.
