French psychedelic punk metal trio Joe La Truite return with their third mind-bending video single, “Octogone 8000,” released May 16, 2025, on YouTube and all major streaming platforms. This latest installment marks another electrifying chapter in the band’s wild conceptual journey leading up to their second studio album, Ultimate Ninja Storm 2: Full Zguen , set for release on Friday, June 13, 2025 .

“Octogone 8000” hurls listeners into a surreal arena where outlandish characters— Little Ninja Zombie Cyborg and disco-warrior-turned-nightclub-owner Cosmozouk —clash in a kaleidoscopic battle of wills. With aggressive vocals, explosive instrumentation, and signature genre-hopping madness, the single captures the relentless energy that defines Joe La Truite.

The trio— Julien Liphard (Guitar/Vocals), Charles Roussel (Bass/Vocals), and Martin Denquin (Drums)—recorded and produced the new material at dBd Studio in the scenic South of France. “Octogone 8000” is the third video single from Ultimate Ninja Storm 2: Full Zguen , following the explosive debut single “Bad Death City” (March 1, 2025), which hit #5 on the Euro Indie Charts , and the follow-up “Light Speed” (April 11, 2025). All three tracks have received widespread airplay and glowing reviews across the indie metal press.

Ultimate Ninja Storm 2: Full Zguen features 13 chaotic tracks that explore a fictional gaming universe—or perhaps the inside of Joe’s own psyche—through a high-octane fusion of metal, punk, psychedelic rock , and even hip-hop (as heard in the rap-infused opener of “Bad Death City”). The album’s eclectic style and imaginative storytelling reflect the band’s vision of a concept-driven, audio-visual rollercoaster.

What is Zguen?

Zguen is the electrified energy state discovered by Joe La Truite’s fans—an uncontrollable, headbanging euphoria triggered by the band’s genre-blending sound and frenetic performances. It all began in 2019 when Julien , Charles , and Martin first jammed together at dBd Studio. Their chemistry birthed Joe La Truite’s debut album, Trapped in the Cosmos (2020), and the rest, as they say, is Zguen.

Now with Ultimate Ninja Storm 2: Full Zguen , Joe La Truite have distilled that raw, chaotic synergy into their most ambitious work to date.
