It’s a resurrection half a century in the making — the surviving members of the original Alice Cooper band have reunited to unleash their first new studio album in 51 years. Titled The Revenge Of Alice Cooper , the long-awaited release arrives July 25 via earMUSIC, promising a glorious return to the raw, theatrical shock rock that defined a generation.
Vocalist Alice Cooper, guitarist Michael Bruce, bassist Dennis Dunaway, and drummer Neal Smith — the iconic lineup behind classics like School’s Out and Billion Dollar Babies — have teamed up once again to conjure the spirit of their 1970s heyday. Produced by the legendary Bob Ezrin, who helmed several of their most beloved records, The Revenge Of Alice Cooper is a true reunion in every sense — complete with a ghostly contribution from the late guitarist Glen Buxton.
The track "What Happened To You" was built from an old riff captured on a long-lost demo recorded by Buxton and Dunaway, giving fans a poignant glimpse of Glen’s guitar magic from beyond the grave. Meanwhile, the bonus track “Return Of The Spiders 2025” serves as an updated remix of a deep cut from the group’s 1970 sophomore effort Easy Action .
The album’s first single, “Black Mamba,” will strike on Tuesday, April 22 via Cooper’s own syndicated radio show Alice’s Attic . The venomous track features a guest appearance by none other than The Doors’ legendary guitarist Robby Krieger.
Talking to Billboard , Alice remarked on how natural the reunion felt: “It was very much like this was our next album after [1973’s] Muscle Of Love , just like, ‘Okay, this is the next album.’ Isn’t that funny after 50 years? All of a sudden it just falls into place.”
Producer Bob Ezrin echoed that sentiment: “They just revert to who they were as kids when they first got together… and make music together like they did 50-some years ago.”
While no official tour has been announced, Cooper isn’t ruling out select performances featuring the original lineup. “I don't really see it being a full-out tour,” he says, “But I could see it being a feature — like Detroit, New York, L.A., London — doing a half-hour or 40 minutes in a club or something.”

The original Alice Cooper band formed in 1968, breaking through with their shocking mix of garage rock grit and horror-fueled theatrics. Within five short years, they’d changed the face of rock forever with albums like Love It To Death , Killer , School’s Out , and Billion Dollar Babies . By 1974, at the height of their fame, the band dissolved — each member going their separate ways.
Yet the spirit never truly died. A surprise reunion gig in 2015 at Good Records in Dallas hinted at unfinished business. Now, with The Revenge Of Alice Cooper , that chapter has been completed — loud, unhinged, and defiantly weird.
Whether you’re a diehard disciple from the early days or a newcomer drawn in by the snake-charming allure of Cooper’s live show, this album is more than a nostalgia trip — it’s a declaration that the monsters of rock still have teeth.
And they bite back hard.
