Kittie Drops New Single 'One Foot In The Grave' from Highly Anticipated Album 'Fire'

Canadian metal titans Kittie have reignited their ferocious pursuit of global metal domination with the release of their latest single, 'One Foot In The Grave'. This track is the fourth teaser from their forthcoming studio album, Fire, which marks the band’s first full-length release in over thirteen years. Fans can look forward to the album dropping on June 21st via Sumerian Records, with pre-orders available now.

Vocalist and guitarist Morgan Lander expressed her excitement about the new single, saying, "The excitement is palpable in anticipation of our forthcoming album release, with the unleashing of our latest offering ‘One Foot In The Grave’. It’s a feisty, high-energy song about coming back from the dead and rising from the ashes so to speak, paralleling our real life experiences as of late. Letting go of the demons of the past to begin anew is something that resonates with us deeply!"

Kittie’s return to the music scene earlier this year was met with widespread acclaim, starting with their blistering single 'Eyes Wide Open'. This was followed by 'We Are Shadows', and the band announced a series of exclusive headline shows across the US and Canada in April. Their explosive live performance at the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas set the stage for the announcement of Fire and the release of their third single, 'Vultures'. Kittie’s latest tracks have collectively garnered 1.8 million cross-platform streams and nearly 2 million YouTube views.

The band’s eagerly-anticipated headline shows in July and August will see them performing in five cities across the US and Canada. Fans will be treated to a full set that includes both new material and classic hits, along with some deep cuts not played live since the band’s early days. Each show promises a unique experience with different supporting acts at each location.

About Kittie:
Kittie first burst onto the scene in 1999 with their debut album Spit, becoming a notable force in the nu-metal movement. Over the years, they evolved into a full-fledged metal powerhouse, with later albums like In The Black (2009) and I've Failed You (2011) showcasing a darker and more mature sound. After an "indefinite hiatus" following their 2011 tour, Kittie’s future was uncertain, punctuated only by a hometown show in London, Ontario in 2017 and the release of the documentary Kittie: Origins/Evolutions in 2018.

Now, thirteen years and 12.6 million career streams later, Kittie is back with a vengeance. The band—comprising Morgan Lander (vocals/guitar), Mercedes Lander (drums/backing vocals), Tara McLeod (guitar), and Ivy Vujic (bass)—has reunited and signed with Sumerian Records. Produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Alice In Chains, Korn), Fire showcases Kittie’s growth in songwriting, lyrical content, and overall sonic brutality, heralding a new era for the band.
