If you’re the kind of person who thinks the lyric “Pull up and catch these hands” is hard then you’ll enjoy this EP. If you think that sort of thing is juvenile then it’s probably best to pass on ‘Half Past Revenge’. Musically it has its moments of genuine groove and headbanging.

The guitar performance is great with numerous caveman riffs of the fist-pumping variety. My only gripe with the guitar is the blues-inspired leads on ‘Souls in the Soil’. They were quite nice during the intro but then they felt out of place when the vocals came in. The clean vocals also aren’t strong. When he goes back to his angry hardcore bark then the sound is excellent. He has a sound as if Jamey Jasta had a more hip-hop-inspired cadence. Think more of Ice T’s hard delivery than the more sing-song modern style.

If you need to blow off some steam this is an angry offering full of riffs and drums to get you moving. Just don’t expect any masterpieces. Metal Digest

After a 23-year hiatus from the New Jersey Hardcore Scene, FURY OF FIVE have returned in a brutal fashion.  With the original front line and a new drummer, they hit the stage in their hometown of Asbury Park, NJ in June of 2022 with a sold-out event.

Wasting no time, the band hit Landmine Studios with engineer/producer Len Carmichael to work on their next release.

Taking respect since 1994 and still relevant in the music scene today, the FURY OF FIVE catalog is an arsenal of angry venom.  From “No Reason to Smile”, “At War With The World” and “This Time It’s Personal” to the upcoming “Half Past Revenge”, this New Jersey hardcore outfit knows how to blend reality with metal, hip hop and attitude.

On March 3, 2023, FURY OF FIVE released their 5 song EP titled “Half Past Revenge” with Upstate Records.  With tracks like Feel the Reign, Revenge Doesn’t Sleep and W.A.R. (We Are Ready), these guys are picking up right where they left off in 1998.

Based upon the overwhelming response and fan demand, Half Past Revenge is now being released on a limited edition Half Past Revenge vinyl picture disc.  With only 200 available, the HPR picture disc will certainly sell out!  The HPR picture disc is available for pre-order here and is expected to ship by April 15th.
