Rock and Metal Legends Who Rock Ray-Bans

Ray-Ban sunglasses have become a  classic icon  of style and sophistication. Since the brand’s establishment in 1937, it’s been at the forefront of innovation in eyewear, creating timeless designs with outstanding quality that have kept the brand on top to this day. Aside from their practicality, the shades became huge in the pop culture scene, worn in movies and music videos and donned by celebrities. Musicians were a huge part of bringing Ray-Ban to center stage, cementing the sunglasses’ appeal in the metal and rock scene. To show just how impactful these shades are, here are some rock and metal legends who rock Ray-Bans:

Corey Taylor

Slipknot may be known for their awesomely creepy masks, but members often keep it cool and simple off-stage with a pair of shades. The band’s vocalist, Corey Taylor, is particularly fond of Ray-Ban’s  men’s sunglasses He can often be seen sporting a classic black pair of Wayfarers or Aviators, some of the brand’s most iconic models that have been worn by many other music legends. They provide an effortlessly cool and timeless look and protect the eyes from the sun or bright stage lights, which is why Ray-Ban sunglasses have been a hit for many metal and rock legends like Corey Taylor.

Slash

Along with the top hat, Slash’s look would be incomplete without a pair of sunglasses. They’ve become integral to his image since he’s rarely spotted without them. His choice of Ray-Ban sunglasses is the Aviators, which stay put on his face no matter how intense the guitar riffs or his moves get on stage. He typically wore these frames with classic black lenses but has since branched out to polarized blue mirror lenses for a more dynamic and cool vibe. But other than style, his sunglasses help boost confidence and preserve some privacy. Whether he’s working on his solo projects,  cooking up an album , or touring with the rest of Guns n’ Roses, you can bet he’ll be rocking his shades.

Tom Morello

Rage Against the Machine garnered attention for their eclectic fusion of heavy metal, punk rock, and rap sounds, but the band’s overall style is not as flashy, with the members keeping things casual on and off stage. Guitarist Tom Morello often adds a touch of cool to his outfits with Ray-Ban sunglasses like the Aviator Metal II with black lenses and silver frames. No matter what he’s wearing or where he is, the shades are timeless and versatile, adapting to any situation. The shades are often paired with a cap—sometimes bearing political statements—which has become a signature aspect of his look as well.

Dee Snider

Dee Snider has long been a heavy metal legend since joining Twisted Sister in the 1970s. The  band’s style  was heavily influenced by the glam rock look of women’s clothing, flashy colors, big hair, and lots of denim, leather, and fringe. Now at 68, Dee Snider's personal style still screams rock, complete with all-black ensembles, leather jackets, and, of course, sunglasses. He’s worn various shades over the years but typically sticks to Round Metal Ray-Ban sunglasses that he’s hardly ever seen without. He has a pair with black lenses that fade into a slight red gradient and others with mirrored lenses, offering a masculine edge that’s expected of a heavy metal icon.
