The Hunter -Incursion!
What’s going everyone! I’m back and better then ever because here today I’m given the opportunity to talk about and review this new band I discovered Incursion and trust me this is an EP experience you don’t want to miss!!
There’s so much positive things to say about this album, a lot of good and simple things that they’ve done to just make the experience that much better then the rest!
First of all I love how each song from 1-6 is numbered in Roman numerals to give it that ‘conceptual’ narrative, I mean based on the lyrics it’s obviously a concept album but the numbers just give it that little something extra when going through it.
Secondly I love the cover art! I know this is something I don’t often talk about but the badass Knight sitting on top of his black horse while holding a sword or spear! It’s not only relevant to the theme of the story but again when your a listener looking for the ‘right’ album to listen to and you come across this that not only has each song listed in Roman numerals AND this cover, it’s going to draw attention and that’s a sign of careful planning and smart craftsmanship and you haven’t even heard the music yet!
As we get to the music, you can tell right away it has this ‘New Wave British Heavy Metal’ feel to it like your Iron Maiden type vibe! And they utilise this with a conceptual story set in the medieval period, about death and survival! I’m going to leave the story vague so that you can all experience it as the listener!
The production is solid as the music and the theme never overlap each other to carry one or the other, every second of the album flows like a story and there’s no filler or weak ends to discuss it’s all done right and right as an above average Metal EP should be!
If your looking for a short and sweet metal experience that not only makes you headbang but also gives you a story to follow and think about then look no further then this! It’s got everything you’d need from strong lyricism, production, instrumentation and vocal performances! Definitely one not to miss! - Corban Skipwith

NWOTHM from USA
"The Hunter" is Incursion's debut EP, a US band originally active between 1982 and 1986, which returned its activity back in 2018. Ready to assault you with their New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal, Incursion are set to release "The Hunter" on CD and vinyl this fall.
Incursion has reunited and burst onto the traditional Heavy Metal scene. The band has released their debut six-song EP – The Hunter – on No Remorse Records. Incursion consists of original members Maxx Havick and Michael Lashinsky on guitars with Buddy Norris on drums. The lineup is completed by Stone Jamess on bass and Steve Samson on lead vocals.
The Miami, FL based band was active from 1982-1986 and did not have a formal release outside a locally produced cassette compilation of Florida Hardcore and metal bands in 1985. In 2018 the three original members got back together with the intent of finally performing and recording their wealth of material. Recruiting Steve and then Stone made the band complete and ready to present the music as it was intended. The Hunter is a concept EP. The Hunter – born in a war-torn land and destined to fight for survival since birth, faced all adversaries, man and beast alike. He mastered his inner demons through faith, battle and revenge. The Hunter’s blade led him through chaos to his final struggle with the false king. In his quest to become the King of All the Land, The Hunter’s journey is ageless, but almost forgotten.
The Hunter EP was recorded at Alpaca Ranch Recording by Chris Short ( Alestorm ). It was mixed by Jorg Uken
at Soundlodge Studios ( Anvil, Savage Blood, Powergame ). The Artwork was created by famed artist Phil Lawvere ( Celtic Frost, Kreator, Hirax ). The alliance with No Remorse will increase the interest in The Hunter EP
