THE BEAST

The band was formed in May 2002 from an idea by Fabri and thrasher (Christian). The first line-up was so formed: Fabri and Fede on guitars, Umberto on vocals, Tore on bass and thrasher on drums. During the first year of activity, this one being always constituted by several live shows around the north of Italy, Torment were a cover band dipping into the '80s thrash scene, performing various songs by Slayer, Destruction, Possessed etc. The hystory of the group is quite troublesome: in 2003 Fabri proposed his first song to the rest of the band, and he will keep himself as songwriter/lyricist in a stable way. In the same year Tore left the band and was replaced in 2004 by Ea. In 2005 Umberto also left and Erman took its place.

In 2007, after many difficulties, the debut cd "Suffocated dreams" was recorded, it was released the year after. In the same year Ea and Fede left the band.

Luca on guitar and Gigi on bass came in their place. In 2009 this line-up recorded the "Scars remain" ep. It was released a year later, when Luca and Erman also left the band.

At this point the line-up consisted of Johnny on guitar, Gigi on bass, thrasher on drums and Fabri in addition to playing guitar took care of the vocals.

In June 2013, thrasher decided to leave the band, due to personal motives. He played his last show with us on November 1st, 2013 in Amsterdam. Dave came in its place. In March 2015 also Johnny (guitar) left, due to personal motives. The rest of the band decided to continue as a trio. In August 2015 some controversies between the members caused a temporary disbandment of the band, wich re-formed in October with a new drummer, Leo "grafen lion". Another disbandment of the band took place after Leo's leaving in February 2016, but also due to personal problems, in addition to Leo's ones, of Fabri too. After a year of inactivity, after finding a solution to the problems and after a certain research of the missing member, the band resumes his own activities with a new drummer, Giuseppe de Paola, following a positive rehearsal on February 17th, 2017. While the band was completing the new material for a new album, Gigi left the group on November 27th, 2017, Fabri and Giuseppe immediately started the research for a new bassist. Their research lasted little, because they announced the entry in their own line-up of the new bass player Ugo on December 14th, 2017. This line-up recorded a new full-lenght in the beginning of 2019, but in the same year, in october, Giuseppe left the band.

The album remained temporarily unpublished. Fabri and Ugo started right away the research for a Giuseppe's replacement. It concluded with the entry in the line-up of the new drummer Paolo Zippo Carrescia.
In recent years the band has shared the stage with important names like Onslaught, Tankard, Exumer, Raw Power, Bulldozer, Gama Bomb, Bonded by Blood, Violator, Master, Warhammer, M-pire of Evil, Morbid Saint, Cripple Bastards, Necrodeath, Hellish Crossfire, Fingernails, Hobbs' Angel of Death and Leather Leone.
