“The energy of The Prodigy and the ferocity of Sepultura… Don’t miss them.”
– Metal Underground (Depravation Festival review, 2024)
August 2025 — The unholy union of industrial-electro and metal is back and louder than ever as NOX PULSO announce their ferocious new single “PLAGUE TOWN” , set for release on September 5 , and the long-awaited sophomore album “TWO” , due out October 3 via Null Void Records .
With an electrifying sound that channels the chaos of The Prodigy , the aggression of Rammstein , and the darkness of Nine Inch Nails , NOX PULSO 's latest material promises to push boundaries even further. “PLAGUE TOWN” serves as a seething preview of what’s to come—available for pre-save August 1 , with instant access to the single upon pre-save.
Forged in the ashes of the pandemic, NOX PULSO (Latin for night beats ) is the brainchild of two radically different forces:
Matt McIvor , underground dub/d’n’b DJ turned synthwave producer (ItIAM, New Retro Wave),
and Duncan Williams , industrial radio host, ex-nu-metal guitarist, and long-time champion of sonic extremity (TotalRock, Zero Cipher).
Together, they’ve created a project that defies genre lines and era conventions. Williams calls it “heavy dance music” while McIvor adds, “Working with him is like mixing in a warzone. But ‘PLAGUE TOWN’ felt less like a battle and more like a musical exorcism.”
Label head Lisa Harris of Null Void Records echoes the sentiment:
“We never imagined seeing Matt and Duncan in the same room—let alone making music together. But NOX PULSO has a magnetic pull, and their fans want the full experience. Their debut album sold out on physical formats, so for TWO , we’re leaning in: CD and vinyl first, streaming second.”
Following the success of 2023's Songs from the Wastelands , which saw them sharing stages with Aesthetic Perfection , Raging Speedhorn , and Harpy , NOX PULSO continue their rise with a headline appearance at the Oblivion Festival in Glasgow on September 25 , just ahead of the album drop.
Matt McIvor – electronics, vocals
Duncan Williams – vocals, guitar
