Band name and album title: There's only one Elvis with The Balance of Everything

Genre: Death Metal/Death Core

Release date and label: They self-released the album on April 7th, 2023.

Other band releases: After three singles and one album, they have now released an EP.

How did I get to know the band: I don't really warm to Deathcore, but I always give the genre a chance. This is also the case with these six songs that Metal Devastation Radio sent me. Let's see if it's any good, so let's check it out.

What do I think of the disc: Already in the first bars you can clearly hear the core. The vocals consist almost entirely of the genre-typical shouting, with a few really nasty growls thrown in every now and then. They don't skimp on breakdowns either, but surprisingly it fits together well for me here. The six songs really pack a punch.

MODUS OPERANDI opens the EP and the bass tuned about five octaves down, forming a bed for the drums, already shows that they are going all out here. After this Drum'n'Bass intro the thrashing starts and you get exactly what you expect from Deathcore, but (in my opinion) really good.

RECOIL sounds a whole lot dirtier than the rest. The very roots of the core come into play here, which most bands have forgotten. It doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to smack the listener in the face. That's exactly what they do with the song, as they do with the five others, but this is where the dirty really shines.

Conclusion: This is how I like the Core. Hard, dirty and straight in the face. If you also want to give Deathcore a chance, you should listen to this one and I can also recommend it to friends of this genre. So listen to this: fullmetalmayhem
