Do you have twelve minutes to spare? Have you ever been run over or badly beaten by a train? Yes? Do you also happen to be a fan of Dying Fetus , Revocation or Deeds of Flesh ? Technique in combination with immense brutality is really your thing? Then I think we have the ideal EP for you at Heavy Metals. For review, of course. Buying or listening to that trade is at your own risk and expense.

The quintet under the name Descent of Man blasts out this EP entitled A Cosmic Hunger in twelve minutes . For starters, in terms of sound, we hear a little more Dying Fetus than Deeds of Flesh . Although the technique is unmistakably inspired by the men of Deeds of Flesh, the brutal excesses are thick on top. Freakish heavy guitar riffs and thick bass hum, supported by bone-hard and lightning-fast drums, are released on the listener. The vocals cannot be caught for one hole. We hear screeching and a heavy grunt and everything is pretty close to the aforementioned bands. But still, the combination of everything makes your editor's mouth water! It is especially the bizarre speeds, 'gravity blasts' and the guitar work that make me scream for much more of this kind of noise. In the twelve minutes that we are told, we almost constantly have the feeling that it is a race against the clock. That speed train will have to be caught, all nuts must be pressed through it. And this American band succeeds very well. Highly recommended! zwaremetalen
