How did I get to know the band: Again, Metal Devastation Radio sent me the album. Melo-Death with a Viking theme? It can be something or another Amon Amarth clone. So let's listen and then judge:

What do I think of the record: My fears didn't come true, they have their own style, even if you can't deny certain parallels here and there. But these are so general that you could compare them to pretty much every second Melodic Death Metal band. The music is a bit too melodic for me at times, but I really like the singing.

WORLD REBORN has a really crunchy groove when it's not overlaid by a choir synth. The hook is fun too and I can already see the audience raising their fists to the sky as they perform the song.

Conclusion: Not bad, but they overdo it here, for my taste with the melodic part. But if you are interested, you can listen here and see for yourself: fullmetalmayhem

Short Bio: Kromheim is a three-piece melodic death metal band based in London, United Kingdom - established in 2020, it originally was a solo project from Warsaw, Poland. Kromheim draws its influences mostly from Scandinavian bands such as Hypocrisy, Insomnium, Amon Amarth or Dark Tranquillity. While the project's style is heavily rooted in the Gothenburg sound, one of the main aims was to bring back more 'death' to this 'melodic death metal' sound. The lyrical themes are mostly centred around Norse/Viking culture. On the 17th of February 2023 Kromheim will release their first LP entitled 'Journey To Divinity' and it will feature 8 songs.
