STORMBREAKER are a six-piece Heavy/M elodic M etal B and from eastern F i n nland and, after forming in 2021, now present their first musical announcement in the form of the EP “Vengeance” .

All members of the band are between 25 and 40 years old and have already been active in various bands. The band emerged from a solo project by singer Petri Tarvainen, also a guitarist/singer for the Finnish melodic death band Kolossus.

The four tracks offer modern, melodic, up-tempo Metal and are characterized by the alternating vocals of the frontwoman and male vocals/growls. In addition to the two voices, two guitars also provide a lot of power and make a lot of activity.

The opener 'Stormbreaker ' and the following ' Silence=Death ' are good, fast, slightly electronic melodic metal songs with a lot of energy and dynamics, against which the somewhat stuffy and predictable ' Throne ' falls a bit.

The finale is the grandiose ´The Crimson Eyes´ , definitely the heaviest and best song on the record, almost a duet due to the gripping alternating vocals. With hard riffs and wild screams also the most metallic and traditional track, which shines with power, freshness and a fantastic chorus.

At the end of the day an interesting, entertaining short player that is fun and makes you curious about the first studio album . Fans of Battle Beast, Delain, Metalite and In this Moment should definitely check it out.

  Stormbreaker is a six-member energetic melodic metal band from Eastern-Finland that was founded 2021. Itse was born from a solo project that Petri Tarvainen from Kolossus band had been working on. As the time went on the project took shape as a real band with a solid lineup. The members share an undeniable passion for playing metal music, and it has forged them together despite their 25-40 age range. The members have multiple bands from the past and the present that have gained them loads of experience over the years. The debut EP Vengeance will be released on the 20th of January 2023.
