Invertia - Through The Black Bubble - Reviewed By occultblackmetalzine ! Check it out here at this link: https://occultblackmetalzine.blogspot.com/2022/12/invertiathrough-black-bubble2023-full.html

Massachusetts's  Invertia  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  them  moving  away  from  the  mixture  of  black,  death  and  industrial  metal  from t heir  previous  releases  and  focusing  more  on  an  oppressive  death/doom  metal  style  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  album  "Through  The  Black  Bubble"  which  will  be  self  released  in  2023.

Clean  playing  starts  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  elements  of  doom  metal  can  also  be  heard  in  the  slower  sections  of  the  songs.  Vocals  are  mostly  deep  death  metal  growls  along  with  some  melodies  also  being  added  into  the  guitar  riffing  at  times  and  all  of  the  drum  beats  are  programmed.

Touches  of  industrial  can  also  be  heard  at times  but  with  less  impact  than  the  previous  release  where  they  had  a  bigger  role.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  introduced  onto  the  recording  they  are  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style  along  with  some  synths  also  being  added  into  the  background  briefly.

Most  of  the  album  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  era  as  well  as  a  couple  of  the  tracks  being  long  and  epic  in  length  along  with  some  blast  beats  also  being  utilized  briefly  when  the  music  finally  speeds  up  and  one  song  also  adds  in  a  small  amount  of  acoustic  guitars.  The  production  sounds  very  old  school  while  the  lyrics  cover  oppression  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  decent  sounding  recording  from  Invertia  and  while  some  fans  of  their  earlier  industrial  black  metal  albums  might  not  be  into  the  newer  style,  I  can  see  this  release  appealing  more  to  fans  of  doom/death  metal.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Preaching  To  The  Fire"  "The  Old  Suckers"  and  "Super  Morbidly  Deceased".  7/5  out  of  10. - occultblackmetalzine

Release Date: January 13, 2023

FFO: Tombs, Dream Unending, Worm

Location: New England

For over 20 years New England based artists INVERTIA have evolved from black industrial metal to punk/death metal to death/doom. Dave Coppola and Tim Winson return with the addition of Tim Donovan (ex- Watchmaker , ex- December Wolves ) this time they have down-shifted in intervals and beats per minute to create a different kind of oppressive. This full length album, with songs like Super Morbidly Deceased and The Old Suckers, hits the listener full force. This is not an album to be overlooked.
