Greece is well known for its extreme metal scene, from its Athenian capital to the north of Thessaloniki; the Peloponnesians shake with the rumbling sound of distortion, but this is a country also famous for its islands and hailing from the western island of Corfu are Mind Erasure who have delivered their debut album ‘Connive’.

With ‘Connive’, Mind Erasure is an album which has all the hallmarks of a band well beyond its debut release. Therefore, ‘Connive’ is a very good album and this three-piece know exactly how to create black/death metal. Yet, ‘Connive’ isn’t just some massive hero worship of something like Necrophobic. Instead, there is something quite progressive about this album as Mind Erasure push not just the expectations of the genre but also themselves as musicians and songwriters. This means that ‘Azrael’, ‘Cataphasia’ and the three part epic ‘As First Light Never Comes’ are exceptionally good with ‘Connive’ having all the appeal of not only Dark Tranquillity and Insomnium, but also Bolt Thrower and Septicflesh.

What Mind Erasure have delivered here with ‘Connive’ is a very, very good album. This isn’t the sort of release which bogs itself down in the drudgery of genericism, but instead takes its influences and makes them their own and any fan of not just black/death metal, but also melo death would do well to pick this up. - metal-digest

Mind Erasure formed back in 2007, they have released one demo and one promo before The album “CONNIVE”. Through the years many members came and left with more noticeable the founder member Dimitris Garnelis who left the band for personal reasons right after the recording of “CONNIVE” have finished. We have shared the stage with many bands, such as, Rotting Christ, Planet Of Zeus & Temperance.
