Thrash metal and crossover are well mined genres. At least once a month, a new thrash/crossover band rears their head, drinking beer and writing dissident lyrics to the endless mosh pits that form almost instantly. In their relatively short existence, Cruel Bomb have managed to explode out of Pennsylvania and this year has the band releasing their latest EP ‘Man Made’.

Fans of thrash metal and crossover will find something here that is immediately endearing because with ‘Man Made’, Cruel Bomb deliver another shot of high-octane crossover which kicks the listener in the shin, sticks a beer-bong in their throat and starts to pour the beer in. Through tracks such as ‘Stronger Than Yesterday’, ‘Dogs of War’ and ‘A-10’, this EP shows that not only do Cruel Bomb have all the likeability of Power Trip, Nuclear Assault and Municipal Waste they also keep a real sense of who they are as the Pennsylvanian band take on the political elite with a placard in one hand and a petrol bomb in the other.

Yeah ok, without beating around the bush too much, ‘Man Made’ sounds exactly like the listener expects it to and there are no glaring surprises. This is thrash/crossover to its very core, so you know what you’re getting. However, Cruel Bomb do this excellently over the course of its 15 minutes and by now, we know that this band can handle an EP, but it will be interesting to see how Cruel Bomb tackle a full-length studio album. - Metal Digest

Cruel Bomb is a three-piece thrash metal band from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Since forming Cruel Bomb in 2018, members Kennie Barto (bass/vocals), Brandon Gilvary (guitar/vocals) and Kyle McKeown (drums) have fed that machine with a consistent live show schedule and a trio of EPs. Their latest effort, Man Made, adds five new songs to the band’s already diverse catalog of compositions.
