The band comments:

"We are so excited to finally be releasing our debut! Thanks to everyone involved, most notably Michael Falcore from The Birthday Massacre and Sam Astaroth from Astaroth Incarnate! You are our dream team!"

Gothic industrial synth pop duo In Veil, formed of Ady Cernea (Instrumentals) and Haysi Veil (Vocals), emerged in 2019 after a fateful encounter in Toronto’s underground music scene. ‘Lunatic’ is an unusual debut offering of the dark and macabre as it hasn’t been heard before.

Drawing heavily on the folklore of their countries of origin, (Ady: Transylvania and Haysi: Cuba), Gothic influences and variety of genre styles, In Veil have been making a name for themselves. With the assistance of guitarist and songwriter, Michael Falcore of The Birthday Massacre, co-producing In Veil, the duo’s sound was elevated to another level. In 2020 In Veil won the prestigious FACTOR Artists Development grant, which is sponsored by the Government of Canada. Dark pop vibes arise out of eerie synth lines contrasted with avant-garde vocals. From the anthemic pop choruses of ‘Salome’, through to heavily distorted guitars of ‘Spider’, the duo explores an alluring array of musical and lyrical themes with a hauntingly dark twist. Hip Hop made Gothic is on offer in ‘Slow Lane’. The catchy heavy rhythms and hard-hitting percussion powers the momentum forward while Haysi’s vocals add a seductive mood.
Be lured into the spooky lair that is In Veil’s ‘Lunatic’. Pushing beyond expectations by genre mixing with their own unique style, the result is a thrilling ride of catchy hooks and Gothic horror producing a bewitching effect. Take a listen if you dare.
