It takes some kind of ludicrous talent to be able to drop an album such as this, as a stop gap to decompress after a couple of intense albums – but this is what Erech, of Ancient Mastery and Narziss, has done and this is the result: kinetic black metal that evades capture in any genre box, casually incorporating elements of symphonic bm, punk, grunge, played with a spirited sense for melodics and steely conviction, all covered in a satisfying cloak of raw atmosphere.
