That of finding brave warriors on what to take with you to Valhalla. After choosing the fallen in battle, the Valkyries bring a part of their chosen ones to Valhalla, the warrior's afterlife room ruled by Odin and the remaining part to the Fólkvangr camp, presided over by the goddess Freyja. There the warriors become Einherjar; when they are not preparing for the great final battle of Ragnarǫk, where they will fight together with Odin.
