Bobby Liebling (Pentagram) & Sonny Vincent (The Limit/Testors) Join The Zach Moonshine Show For An Exclusive Deep Dive Into "Another Drop"

Metal Devastation Radio recently welcomed two underground rock legends to The Zach Moonshine Show as Bobby Liebling of Pentagram and Sonny Vincent of Testors and The Limit joined us for an exclusive interview discussing their upcoming album, Another Drop , arriving July 31 via Silver Lining Music.

The conversation offered fans a rare look behind the curtain at the creative partnership that has fueled The Limit since its formation in 2020. What began as a collaboration between Pentagram's iconic frontman Bobby Liebling and legendary punk rocker Sonny Vincent has evolved into a project with its own identity, character, and artistic vision.

Building A Stronger Follow-Up To Caveman Logic

During the interview, Sonny reflected on the challenge of following up the band's debut album Caveman Logic . Rather than forcing the process, the band focused on creating songs organically while remaining committed to pushing themselves creatively.

According to Sonny, the goal was simple: get to the core of what makes The Limit unique and deliver something even stronger than the debut. After years of recording, refining mixes, and perfecting the final product, both musicians believe they've accomplished exactly that.

Bobby echoed that sentiment, praising the songwriting and expressing confidence in the new material.

New Singles And Upcoming Videos

Fans have already gotten a taste of the upcoming album through the release of the title track "Another Drop Of Blood" and the fan-favorite "Part 2, Screw You."

The pair revealed that a third single is currently being selected and that plans are underway for a more ambitious video production. Rather than relying on traditional performance-based videos, Sonny discussed the desire to create something more conceptual and visually engaging to complement the music.

The conversation even touched on the humorous James Brown-inspired moment featured in the "Part 2, Screw You" video, which has become a favorite among fans.

The Story Behind The Album Artwork

One particularly interesting topic was the album's striking cover artwork.

Sonny explained that the band intentionally chose not to use AI-generated imagery for the album cover, instead selecting a handcrafted collage created by an artist whose work immediately resonated with the entire team.

While acknowledging AI's growing role in creative fields, both musicians emphasized the importance of authenticity and consensus when selecting visuals that represent The Limit.

The resulting artwork perfectly captures the surreal, dreamlike atmosphere surrounding the album.

Touring Plans And Wacken Open Air

Exciting news was also shared regarding upcoming live performances.

The Limit will make a major appearance at the legendary Wacken Open Air festival this summer, performing on one of the world's biggest stages for heavy music fans.

In addition to Wacken, the band is preparing for future touring opportunities, with more extensive live plans currently being discussed.

For fans who have been waiting to see The Limit perform live, the wait appears to be coming to an end.

The Pursuit Of Perfect Sound

One of the most fascinating portions of the interview centered around the vinyl production process for Another Drop .

Sonny revealed that he personally rejected the album's initial test pressing after extensive listening sessions across multiple audio systems, including a high-end audiophile setup valued at tens of thousands of dollars.

Rather than settling for a release that didn't meet expectations, the band worked closely with mastering specialists in London to ensure the vinyl version captured the power and depth of the original recordings.

The story highlighted just how much care and attention went into every aspect of the album's final presentation.

Gear Talk: Vintage Guitars And Classic Tones

Gearheads were treated to a behind-the-scenes look at the equipment used during recording sessions.

Sonny tracked much of the album using a 1969 Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty alongside several other guitars, running through multiple Vox AC30 amplifiers simultaneously to create the layered tones heard throughout the record.

The discussion also drifted into classic vinyl pressings, vintage Led Zeppelin records, and the timeless production techniques that continue to inspire musicians today.

Lyrical Themes And Personal Reflections

Bobby offered insight into several of the album's lyrical themes, discussing tracks such as "Don't Say Try," "Tryptophan," and the deeply personal "Fall Down, Get Up."

The latter song became one of the interview's most powerful moments as both musicians reflected on perseverance, resilience, and overcoming life's challenges.

Sonny described the track as an emotional journey that many listeners will likely connect with on a personal level, calling it one of the album's most profound songs.

Not A Side Project

Throughout the conversation, one message became crystal clear: The Limit is not simply a side project.

Both Bobby and Sonny spoke passionately about the band's importance in their lives and careers. While each remains active with other projects, The Limit has become a serious creative outlet built on collaboration, friendship, and a shared love of authentic rock and roll.

As Sonny put it, The Limit has developed its own personality and identity, standing proudly alongside the other legendary projects associated with its members.

Pentagram's Busy Year Continues

Bobby also provided an update on Pentagram's packed schedule.

The band is currently between legs of an extensive U.S. tour and plans to enter the studio this summer to record another new album before heading to Mexico and South America later this year.

With Pentagram continuing to build momentum and The Limit preparing to release another ambitious album, Bobby shows no signs of slowing down.
