Serpents Oath Unveil Lyric Video for “Gateways to Tiamat”

Belgium – Pledged in blood, will, and power, Serpents Oath return with their latest black metal devastation: the lyric video for “Gateways to Tiamat” , the standout track from their acclaimed album Revelation (2024, Odium Records). The video is set to drop Oct 3, 2025, promising an immersive journey for fans of Watain, Dark Funeral, and Dissection .

Emerging from Belgium’s underground metal scene, Serpents Oath began as a trinity of extreme metal adepts who forged a new beast from the fires of their combined vision. Their debut album Nihil (2020, Soulseller Records) instantly captured critical acclaim with its raw, nihilistic fury, establishing the band as a formidable force. Following the addition of two sworn-in members, their sophomore album Ascension (2022) showcased an expanded sonic assault, featuring crushing riffs, relentless drums, and terrorizing screams. Revelation (2023, Odium Records) marked a further evolution in songwriting and production, proving that the flame of Serpents Oath burns brighter than ever.

Produced and mastered by Yarne Heylen at Project Zero Studio , Gateways to Tiamat delivers a ritualistic hymn to the primordial void—a descent into the ancient Serpent whose depths devour and renew all creation. As Tes Re Oth explains:

“The vision behind the band is one of transformation. This shines through first and foremost in the lyrics and is carried through in the cover art and other visuals. The transformation is that of an individual striving to become transhuman with the ultimate goal of beating even Death. This is the ultimate rebellion as even Death is not accepted as a given.”

For this unveiling, Serpents Oath chose the lyric video format to let the words cut directly through the chaos, while honoring the genius of Néstor Avalos , whose artwork forged the visual flesh of Revelation . The video unites image, text, and sound into a single force: a true opening of the Gate.
