Taylor recently revealed his ten favorite metal albums of all time as part of As part of Rolling Stone’ s ongoing series about ‘The 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time’ (previous participants, if you don’t recall, include Metallica’s Lars Ulrich , Judas Priest’s Rob Halford , and Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne ). There aren’t a ton of surprises here — Nickelback didn’t make the cut! — but number the absence of Slayer will probably throw some people for a loop… as well Taylor’s number one selection. It’s worth remembering that Taylor almost sang on that album, and it ultimately wasn’t his choice not to , so it makes sense that he’d feel somewhat wistful about the record.
