A new album may not be in the cards, but System of a Down will absolutely be touring in 2020. System announced a performance in Finland will take place, likely headlining the Provinssi Fest, along with a headlining spot at Germany’s Rock am Ring and Rock im Park.
SOAD haven’t been the most active band in the world, but when they announce a show, thousands still flock to witness the Armenian-American favorites. System have only performed eight shows in the past two years, all in North America.
In 2020, System of a Down will return to Europe for the first time since 2017, starting with Germany on the festival weekend of June 5-7. Roughly three weeks later, the modern metal titans will invade Finland on June 25.

With so much time in between shows, fans can only wonder if additional gigs will be announced to fill the space.
Earlier this year, vocalist Serj Tankian announced he was making a documentary about his career and activism. To drum up excitement, Tankian shared an image of himself playing keyboard in the desert for a band called Forever Young.
