SLASH Recording New GUNS N' ROSES Music This Weekend?

Slash will reportedly record guitar parts for some brand new GUNS N' ROSES material this weekend at singer Axl Rose 's studio in Malibu, California.

The news of the recording session was broken in a social media post by Kruse Kontrol Amplification , which performs amplifier modifications for customers from the entire U.S. and Canada.

In the since-deleted Instagram post, someone representing Kruse Kontrol wrote (see below): " SLASH 's 1987 Silver Jubilee in the house! Dropped off by GnR producer Caram Costanzo himself the amp needs to be serviced and tuned up to sound stellar for this Saturday's recording of new material at Axl Rose 's studio in Malibu. I'm one of the very few fortunate few ever getting to work on and play this cool amp!"

Costanzo previously worked on "Rock The Rock" , the first new song from Rose in 10 years, which was featured in the TV show "New Looney Tunes" . He was also a co-producer on GUNS N' ROSES ' last studio album, "Chinese Democracy" , which featured only Axl from the band's classic lineup.

Slash , who will return to the road with his solo band, SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS , next week, recently told BelfastLive that work on a new GUNS N' ROSES album could commence at the end of this year. "The CONSPIRATORS are finishing up in mid-August and then GUNS is going out in late September/October," he said. "But at the same time, we're focused on working towards this new record that everybody's been asking about. So start focusing on that in earnest. And that's it. I'm not thinking about anything else while that is going on. That's really the main focus. By the time the CONSPIRATORS tour is done, I will have written enough material for the next CONSPIRATORS record that whenever that break comes up with GUNS N' ROSES we can go on to do that. We'll just juggle all this stuff, schedules permitting."

Asked what the new GUNS N' ROSES album will be like, he said: "I have no fucking idea. I really couldn't tell you. It's like anything else — you don't know what it is until it's done."

GUNS N' ROSES ' "Not In This Lifetime" tour began in April 2016, and after 159 shows in 41 countries, it played its last date at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii on December 8, 2018.

"Not In This Lifetime" is now believed to be the second-highest-grossing tour of all time, having generated more than $500 million since it began three years ago.

Since the end of the tour last year, Slash and bassist Duff McKagan have both returned to solo endeavors.

The "Not In This Lifetime" tour features classic-lineup members Slash , McKagan and Rose backed by guitarist Richard Fortus , drummer Frank Ferrer , keyboardist Dizzy Reed and second keyboardist Melissa Reese .
