RAMMSTEIN ‘Crossed A Line’ Using ‘Holocaust’ Imagery In New Video, Jewish Leader Claims?

Government officials and Jewish leaders in Germany have spoken up about RAMMSTEIN ‘s new video teaser, which features the band’s members wearing striped prison uniforms with nooses around their necks, NME reports.

One of the Jewish leaders, former president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, Charlotte Knobloch, told Bild :

“With this video, the band has crossed a line. The instrumentalization and trivialization of the Holocaust, as shown in the images, is irresponsible.”

Felix Klein , the German government’s commissioner for anti-semitism, said:

“I think it is a tasteless exploitation of artistic freedom.”

Video in question can be seen below.

RAMMSTEIN’s new album is tentatively due next month. The follow-up to 2009’s Liebe Ist Für Alle Da was mixed at a Los Angeles studio beginning with Rich Costey , an American producer who has previously worked with MUSE , RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and FRANZ FERDINAND , among others.
